Back to the playground :)

Following review of the current government restrictions, and specifically what this means for schools, we have outlined a few operational guidelines below.

11th June 2021

Dear Families,

We are so looking forward to welcoming everyone back onsite tomorrow!

Following review of the current government restrictions, and specifically what this means for schools, we have outlined a few operational guidelines below.

School Drop Offs and Pick-Ups

School drop off and pick up points remain the same, with all children to be dropped off at The Shed each morning. Children are welcome to be dropped off from 8am tomorrow, and pick up remains 3.30pm from usual pick up points.

In line with Government guidelines, we ask all adults to please wear a mask at pick up and drop off times.

To limit people onsite we ask that parents do not enter the school building, or Shed (yard) area. Any adult dropping off late, or collecting children early must register the childs’ arrival/departure via the QR code located at the entrance on Nelson Place, please knock or call the front office on 8560-4466 so they can assist you with collecting your child.

Sports Update

There will be no skateboarding or circus program tomorrow for Forest students, in its place we will be running a school based sports program.

At this point, we expect to run our normal sport program for the final week of Term 2, next week.

  • Wednesday - Burrow will have tennis and snowboarding

  • Thursday - Nest will have skateboarding or circus

  • Friday - Forest will have skateboarding or circus

Children from Nest and Forest participating in skateboarding will travel via public transport. Please contact your cohort if you are uncomfortable with children catching public transport in the current climate, and they are welcome to participate in Circus next week.

Monitor for Symptoms

It is important to understand the symptoms of Coronavirus:

Many people who contract COVID–19 will suffer only mild symptoms. The most common symptoms reported include:

  • Fever

  • Breathing difficulties such as breathlessness

  • Cough

  • Sore throat

  • Fatigue or tiredness

If you, or a member of your family begins to feel unwell and develop a fever or shortness of breath, a cough or respiratory illness, please seek immediate medical attention and do not attend the school.

In addition to seeking medical assistance, please notify the school as soon as possible by calling the Front Office on 03 8560 4466 or emailing hello@newmark.vic.edu.au

As always, please do not send unwell children to school.

Extend After School Care

Extend after school care will be operating back onsite from tomorrow (Friday) and have emailed all families detailing any updates.

Lunch Orders

Lunch Orders will resume tomorrow, you can place your order here: www.schoollunchonline.com.au

Our team will continue to monitor the situation and ensure covid safe practices are in place with additional handwashing, and hand sanitiser available.

Bring on a happy Friday everyone!

Many thanks,

The team @ Newmark
